"Practices That Work" by PracticeWorks: Interview with Dr. William C. Roddy and staff

Dr. William Roddy uses the T-Scan II to reduce implant and denture failure

Making Dental Occlusion a Science

For years, dental occlusion had been largely a matter of guesswork for dentists. Articulation paper, waxes, pressure indicator paste, etc. were all dentists had to assess and balance the forces of occlusion. Most of these methods are not sensitive enough to detect simultaneous contact, and none measure both biting time and force. Tekscan met the challenge by developing the T-Scan system. T-Scan's grid-based sensor technology proved so successful that Tekscan has applied the same technology to hundreds of other applications, forming Tekscan's Medical and Industrial divisions

In 1997, the T-Scan was further refined and vastly improved. Now, progressive dentists all over the world are reaping the benefits of the latest technological advance in computerized occlusal imaging, the T-Scan II.

Easy to Use - Easy to Interpret!

Vivid graphics makes seeing the balance of the perfect bite easy to determine and adjust.

The T-Scan II helps reduce the risk of:

  • Implant failure
  • Traumatized teeth
  • Unstable dentures
  • Ineffective splints
  • Porcelain fractures
  • or anywhere occlusion plays a role!
  • Computerized Analysis of Dental Occlusion

The T-Scan® II is the only system available to measure dental occlusal forces and quantify how well-balanced a patient's occlusion is.

Excellent Documentation and Patient Communication

Dr. Steven Rose of San Jose, CA states that, "The graphic representations produced by the T-Scan are not only easy to understand by the treating clinician, but also create a beneficial tool for the patient, to help them visualize and understand the nature and degree of their occlusal disharmony. It's a wonderful clinical and teaching aid."

The T-Scan minimizes trauma to abutment teeth, broken implant abutments, unstable denture prosthesis, fractured dental restorative materials, and ineffective splints!
